A-Level Economics Tutor | 87+ Five-Star Reviews

My name is Jaisul. I’m a UCL Economics graduate and I’ve tutored A-Level and International A-Level Economics since 2017. Having studied the same specification as today’s students, I understand the content, exam technique and common areas of difficulty. With 8 years of experience and thousands of teaching hours, I’ve developed a clear, structured and relatable teaching style that helps students build confidence and understanding from the very first session.

My passion for Economics

I was first introduced to Economics at A-Level, where I had an excellent teacher. It quickly became one of my favourite subjects and complemented A-Level Maths very well. With this combination, I set my sights on studying Economics at UCL, where I thoroughly enjoyed my time and graduated with a 2:1 in 2020.

Having studied the same specification as today’s students, combined with the deeper understanding I gained from university, I’m in a strong position to support and mentor students effectively — and it’s something I genuinely enjoy doing.

My passion for Teaching

My interest in teaching began with the challenges I faced during Year 13. Our Economics teacher left at the end of Year 12, and we were required to complete much of the course through independent study. Despite this, I was determined to achieve the grades needed to study Economics at UCL, which had always been my goal.

While working through the specification, I found that although many online resources existed, they often gave conflicting definitions and explanations, and there was a complete absence of model answers that I could use for exam practice.

Since completing my A-Levels, I have helped hundreds of students achieve A*–B grades in Economics, and I have created my own revision notes and model answers to provide students with clear, reliable material. You can read my 87+ five-star reviews here.

The notes I originally made for myself have been improved and expanded so that every student I work with has access to concise topic summaries. I am also developing a growing bank of model answers to help students understand how to approach essay questions under exam conditions.

I relate strongly to students who find Economics difficult at school, and I always teach in a way that keeps concepts simple, structured and engaging.

How I can help

I’m happy to work with any student who would benefit from clear teaching and structured support in Economics. All lessons are taught by me and are available as one-to-one sessions or small groups. You can find out more here.
